The African Bankers magazine, awarded Nedbank Capital with the 'Deal of the year 2009', for the re-financing of the Bakwena N1N4 Toll Road Project, in which ACS is a partner of reference. Africa's top bankers, ministers of finance, governors of central banks and industry leaders join the ceremony held in Istanbul, Turkey.

Bakwena Platinum Corridor, the concessionaire, 25% owned by ACS, is the owner and operator of the 30-year toll concession which provides for the design, finance, construction and is responsible for the ongoing operations, maintenance and upgrading of 385 kilometers of toll road.

The re-financing consisted of bank loans under project finance, and the issuance of bonds indexed to inflation, with joint maturity in 2028. The total amount of the operation was 326 million, constituting the largest refinancing of an infrastructure project in South Africa.
